Teaching on a ship.. never had a Physical Education program before.. Sound like a problem?
But within the space of 24 hours I have a basketball court (ok half a court) and a trampoline + mats!!
After finding the top of a small round trampoline in the storeroom I discovered there were no legs... But ships = engineers and this afternoon an amazing Dutchman (what are the chances) welded 6 legs under it for me.. not only that, in the back of a storage cupboard someone found some gymnastics mats: I HAVE A TRAMPOLINE + MATS !!

After pitching for a play area on the top deck (only place with height) today I was approved to set up a basketball/volleyball/playarea, AND NOT ONLY THAT.. I was told we already had free standing basketball board on board in storage !! I HAVE A BASKETBALL COURT (safety netting pending).
It started as a tip from someone onboard to keep sain in a cramped envirement but now it takes on a new meaning: REJOICE IN SMALL VICTORIES !!
Ha, making efficient use of limitted resources... I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteProblems are only problems when you perceive them as such. However I prefer to perceive problems as the opportunity to create solutions, nice to see you're thinking along similar lines. :)
Thank God for small victories. Good things comes in little packages and from unexpected places. Good to hear that you made it there in one peace. Sound to me like your going to be doing some amazing work over there.

Heb nu gelijk een blog opgezet, maar dat was een foutje;)
Ik wil even reageren op alles tegelijk als dat kan.
Het klinkt alsof je toch je draai aardig hebt gevonden. Super dat je al die spullen opeens tot je beschikking hebt! Nog even doorzoeken en je vindt straks nog een tumbling;)
Hier in het huis is alles bijna klaar. Alles is aangesloten en doet het. Nu is het nog wachten op de bank en dan is het helemaal klaar. Zodra dat klaar is stuur ik je de foto's.
Hopelijk vind je nog wat tijd om langs te komen als je tijdelijk hierheen komt. (we zien wel)
Met scriptie schiet helaas niet echt hard op:S er is nog veel te doen in huis en half om half eraan werken kom je er niet lekker in...
Maar komt goed:)
Ik ga proberen elke blog van je te lezen, want ik ben erg benieuwt naar je avondturen;)
